1. While seated on a bench that is set at a 90 degree angle at the smith machine, make sure the upper part of your back is against the pad of the bench.
2. Stabilize your body by setting your feet shoulder width apart and firmly on the ground. Grip the bar with your hands slightly wider than shoulder width apart.
3. Push the weight up by focusing the weight on the palm of your hands. Stop and in a slow and controlled manner lower the weight down to behind your head. Very carefully touch the barbell to the back of your neck. If at any point during the rep, you feel like you will not be strong enough to push the weight back up, do NOT lower the weight behind your head, instead, lower it your chest to finish the exercise.
